Feilding-Rangitikei Herald - - Your Local News -

The Manawatu District Council has put another $150,000 towards the Feilding Wastewater Treatment Plant. An increase in the contingency amount was demanded following geotechnical investigations for the installation of a new digester tank. Those investigations revealed more work was required than originally anticipated at the time the contract was signed. These improvements will provide seismic resistance to allow the tank to function in case of a major earthquake. The contingency amount will allow for the installation of a two-metre-deep gravel pad reinforced with geo-textiles to protect the tank.
