Manawatu¯ psy­chol­ogy stu­dent Olivia Wil­liams, from Feild­ing, has pre­sented her re­search in front of ex­perts from around the world. Wil­liams at­tended the In­ter­na­tional School Psy­chol­ogy As­so­ci­a­tion con­fer­ence in Manch­ester, Eng­land where she put for­ward her find­ings on the state of ed­u­ca­tional psy­chol­ogy in New Zealand. Wil­liams will sit an oral exam on Oc­to­ber 13 to a panel that will de­ter­mine if she is wor­thy to be a prac­tic­ing psy­chol­o­gist. "Clin­i­cal psy­chol­ogy is what ev­ery­one thinks about when they think of psy­chol­ogy... this is a rel­a­tively new branch," she said. She thanked the Manawatu¯ District Coun­cil for a $1500 grant on Thurs­day.
