Come and join with Mayor He­len for Whanau Day for a fun day de­signed to con­nect the com­mu­nity and raise aware­ness about drugs in the com­mu­nity.

Be­gin­ning with a walk from Manch­ester Square at 11:30 to Vic­to­ria Park the first ac­tiv­ity will be to open the new Fit­ness Zone. The Makino Ro­tary Club part­nered with the coun­cil and Evolve Fit­ness to re­de­velop the old fit­ness trail be­hind the Feild­ing Squash Courts in West St. The af­ter­noons ac­tiv­i­ties will in­clude a po­lice ob­sta­cle course, Sport Manawatū run fun and games, dis­plays from our com­mu­nity ser­vice or­gan­i­sa­tions, and a free sausage siz­zle. The Makino Aquatic Cen­tre will be open for a free swim from 2:00pm.

“This is a day for our com­mu­nity to come to­gether and show we care. It is not about speeches, it is about pro­vid­ing a sub­tle mes­sage,” says Mayor He­len.
