Fashion parade encourages shopping in Pukekohe

-

Pukekohe’s fashion stores will get the chance to showcase their wares and help raise money for a good cause this weekend at this Saturday’s Pukekohe Fashion Parade.

The event, held this Saturday night, is run by the Pukekohe Business Association and over the past two years has raised $10,000 for Franklin St John.

This year’s chosen charity is Franklin Family Support. Kendyl Sullivan, manager of the Pukekohe Business Association, said the association had received a great response from the public.

‘‘Several of the tickets sold are people who have been in previous years and look forward to the event every year. It’s really exciting for us to see that commitment to shopping local.’’

Participating fashion stores include Bettie Munroe, Chances, District, Evolve, Fiori, Francis, K&K, Preview, Shanton and Stirling Sports. The night will also feature Dianna Marie for Flowers, Footloose and Pukekohe Podiatry.

The participating models will have their hair and makeup done by Albert’s Hair Salon and DIOSA Hair and Makeup.

Those attending the event will receive a goody bag, a beverage on arrival and nibbles will be provided.

‘‘Anyone that enjoys shopping and fashion should attend to see what amazing fashion we have available locally in Pukekohe, ‘‘ Sullivan said.

The event will take to the Pukekohe Indian Association Events Centre on Ward St. Doors open at 6pm, for a 7pm start. Tickets are $30 from participating businesses or the Pukekohe Business Association office.
