Float entries open for parade
Storybook characters will come alive this December as the Pukekohe Christmas Parade 2017 takes to the centre of town.
The parade will be held on December 3 from 2pm, along King St, with the theme of
One of the event’s organisers, Donna Vincent from Workz4U, said last year’s parade featured over 30 floats.
‘‘The participants really put in a wonderful effort to go with the theme, and the crowds loved it.’’
The parade is organised by the Pukekohe combined services clubs - the Pukekohe Lions and Pukekohe Rotary - with support from the Pukekohe Business Association and Workz4U.
Entry is free, with category winners receiving $500.
‘‘We would love to see more schools involved, as our parade gets very few compared to Tuakau and Waiuku,’’ said Vincent.
‘‘We have lots of companies who are willing to provide trucks and drivers for free for the day; they just need to get the kids involved in making the decorations.

Floats meet at the Massey Ave in Pukekohe carpark anytime from 10am onwards on December 3.
Judging starts from 12pm onwards. The rain date is December 10.
