In­sti­tute sees in­crease in its num­bers

Karaka Women’s In­sti­tute held its an­nual din­ner meet­ing in Fe­bru­ary, it was a grand turn out with 72 ladies in at­ten­dance at the din­ner meet­ing.

The ladies were en­ter­tained by well-known gar­dener Lynda Hal­li­nan who demon­strated how to make jam in 10 min­utes.

Sara­jane Crookes, pres­i­dent of South Auck­land Fed­er­a­tion of Women’s In­sti­tutes, talked about what it meant to be part of Women’s In­sti­tute and how, in its 97 years, the aim was to grow mem­ber­ship.

There were 33 signed up mem­bers by the end of the night. Giv­ing women an op­por­tu­nity to go to an evening meet­ing meant they could sup­port their group out side of their work­ing hours. For more in­for­ma­tion about the Karaka Women’s In­sti­tute con­tact Sara­jane Crookes 021 2942 180..
