ROSES

For instant exterior decor

Go Gardening - - Editorial -

The room outdoors deserves as much attention to detail as any other living space. Just as a vase of fresh cut flowers is the perfect finishing touch indoors, a colourful free-flowering rose can transform any garden, patio or balcony.

This summer we welcome the arrival of the beautiful and unique Sweet Spot® roses from Anthony Tesselaar Plants, the people who brought us the famous Flower Carpet Roses. Part of The Decorator Rose® category, Sweet Spot® roses are designed to be enjoyed up-close. These promiscuous little bloomers perform well in containers and garden beds. They’re ideal if your outdoor space is small or if you need your garden to be transportable.

Anthony Tesselaar says Sweet Spot® roses are all about colour and instant beautification. While they do require a little more care than the famously disease resistant Flower Carpet Roses, they bloom in continuous succession throughout spring, summer and autumn. At a neat and tidy 40-60cm high by 40-50cm wide, Sweet Spot® roses produce lush green foliage and an immense amount of bloom for their size. Like most roses, they give their best with regular watering and feeding, a light prune in winter, and some spraying to prevent summer diseases.

With a little care and attention, your Sweet Spot® rose will reward you with a repeat performance year after year. Alternatively, once you’ve enjoyed its impressive spring to autumn flowering season, you may prefer to replace it with a Sweet Spot® rose in another colour. Two distinct colour options are on offer this season, with more in the pipeline. Given Anthony Tesselaar Plants’ 25-year history of fantastic plant releases - that’s something we can look forward to.
