Christchurch He­li­copters are lo­cated at Christchurch In­ter­na­tional Air­port, op­er­at­ing from the ‘ The Heli Cen­tre’ in the Hare­wood Avi­a­tion Park. We are the lead­ing provider of He­li­copter Pi­lot train­ing in New Zealand and of­fer com­mer­cial work and scenic flights.

Scenic Flights

The team at Christchurch He­li­copters love to share our lo­cal knowl­edge and spec­tac­u­lar scenery in our big back­yard. Christchurch is con­sid­ered the gate­way to the South Is­land of New Zealand, with good rea­son. Our back­yard is home to some of the world’s most breath­tak­ing sights, braided rivers, moun­tain rangers, high country lakes, ex­ten­sive farm­land, rugged coast­line and beau­ti­ful winer­ies, all within a short flight from our base. Our ex­pe­ri­enced pi­lots are ex­cited to share their sto­ries and back­yard with you.

Flight Train­ing

Christchurch He­li­copters is an ac­cred­ited New Zealand Qual­i­fi­ca­tions Author­ity (NZQA), Pri­vate Train­ing Es­tab­lish­ment (PTE) ap­proved to de­liver the NZ Di­ploma in Avi­a­tion. We also of­fer part time flight train­ing for those who are still work­ing or have other com­mit­ments. Our phi­los­o­phy has al­ways been to pro­vide qual­ity flight train­ing to the high­est level, in a safe and wel­com­ing en­vi­ron­ment. We also of­fer in­tro­duc­tory trial flight pack­ages, you’ll fly with an in­struc­tor who will guide you through the take-off, flight, and land­ing phases of he­li­copter flight in one of our Guim­bal Cabri He­li­copters. They are great just for fun or could be a first step to­wards dis­cov­er­ing if this is a ca­reer for you.

Com­mer­cial

Christchurch He­li­copter’s has been ac­tively in­volved is the Kaik­oura earth­quake evac­u­a­tion, fire­fight­ing in­clud­ing ex­tin­guish­ing the re­cent Port hills fire. Sow­ing and spread­ing, frost con­trol and aerial sur­vey­ing and re­search are among our day to day op­er­a­tions.
