Good Food Guide - - Auckland -

White + Wong’s is a great choice for a night out – big, bold flavours in a big, bold space smack bang in the middle of Auckland’s Viaduct. The interior is buzzy, with colourful on-theme decor, and the terrace overlooking the wharf area is a great spot during the warmer months. The Asianinspired menu has something for everyone, with many dishes designed to be shared. Fijian-style sashimi of kingfish, heirloom tomatoes, chilli, lime, coconut cream and coriander has a nice balance of richness and acidity, while red dates add a hint of sweetness to Koreanstyle short rib, with braised shiitake providing umami and pickled carrot balancing out the richness of the meat. Desserts are a highlight too – think lemongrass and pandan brulee with a brown butter financier, pecan ice cream and banana coconut foam.
