Good Food Guide - - Waikato -

Hayes Common’s food is thoughtfully and creatively compiled, with each dish a delicious combo of top-quality ingredients and great global flavours. This is neighbourhood dining at its best, delivered by owner-operators Lisa and Brent Quarrie, who are both trained chefs. Their sunny eatery – in skilfully refurbished vintage premises near the Waikato River – has a loyal following thanks to its well-earned reputation for friendly charm and a high standard of food, service and drinks. The evening menu is designed to be shared; it includes such pleasures as pork osso bucco with fennel, orange and roasted leek, and market fish with urenika potatoes, heirloom carrots and black bean vinaigrette. Big tables accommodate groups in warm-hearted surroundings.
