Go­ing for a walk at lunchtime may do more than keep you fit – it could stop you from snor­ing. A lesser-known cause of snor­ing is fluid build-up in our legs through­out the day, es­pe­cially when sit­ting for long pe­ri­ods. “When we lie down to sleep, this fluid re­dis­tributes to other parts of the body, in­clud­ing the throat, caus­ing nar­row­ing that leads to snor­ing,” ex­plains Pro­fes­sor Bha­jan Singh of the Uni­ver­sity of Western Aus­tralia. Any­thing that works the calf can help pre­vent this build-up, in­clud­ing calf raises.
