RED WINE: OR­GANIC AND WITH A MEAL

On the one hand, we know red wine is high in polyphe­nols, re­duces stress, and is heart-friendly. On the flip side of the coin, new guide­lines ad­vise that reg­u­larly drink­ing even mod­er­ate amounts of al­co­hol car­ries some risk of ill­ness. It hap­pens to be the case that red wine or rice wine are en­joyed in al­most all of the longevity hot spots. This doesn’t prove that wine is a health drink, but it may be that the pros out­weigh the cons when the wine in ques­tion is savoured the hotspot way: or­ganic, in small amounts, and with a nu­tri­ent-rich meal.
