BOTTLING IT UP
Kiwis are becoming more eco-conscious, especially when it comes to single-use plastic bottles. A nationwide survey by SodaStream found 64 per cent of New Zealanders feel guilty about the plastic bottles they buy and the effect it’s having on the environment. While one in five Kiwis buy bottled water at least weekly, 87 per cent say they’d be willing to give up buying plastic bottles entirely to protect our oceans. And three-quarters of those surveyed say if bottled water became less socially acceptable, similar to smoking, they’d think twice about buying it.
