It might be daunting that you’re worlds away from your local treadmill, but you’d be surprised how much exercise can be done while sightseeing if you get creative.

Start by packing exercise clothes. This sounds straightforward but let’s be honest, how many times have you forgotten a sports bra and it’s meant you’ve skipped exercise? Don’t let bikinis and books take up all the room in your luggage – plenty of workout wear will mean you’re well prepped. After a long flight, your muscles will usually be tighter than ever. Make sure you schedule in time for a stretch post-flight. Yoga is perfect for this; think downward dog and child’s pose.

Don’t have a fitness DVD to bring with you? Some hotel chains have you covered. JW Marriott hotels & resorts offer video barre workouts to every Asia-Pacific hotel room. They’re also launching a Barre to Bar Brunch package at their Singapore South Beach location, which includes a morning barre workout followed by brunch.
