Slow it down
We’re a nation of smoothie lovers but smoothies don’t always keep hunger at bay for long enough and we can end up eating more than we need later to compensate. Researchers looked at why this happens and found the only reason smoothies aren’t as filling as eating whole fruit and veges is because we tend to gulp them down.
After all, it’s the identical meal – one in solid form and one in smoothie form. Their advice? Sip a smoothie slowly over time and it can be just as filling as eating the same amount of whole fruit and vegetables.
