the new Zealand Beef and Lamb Qual­ity mark is an as­sur­ance you are pur­chas­ing new Zealand’s finest beef and lamb. new Zealand grown Free range ten­der­ness guar­an­teed Free of Hor­mone Growth pro­motants (HGps) Strict an­i­mal wel­fare stan­dards in­tro­duced in 1997, the goal of the Qual­ity mark was to make beef and lamb bet­ter for new Zealand con­sumers. in par­tic­u­lar, be­fore the launch of the Qual­ity mark, only 92% of beef and 94% of lamb prod­ucts met ten­der­ness cri­te­ria. the Qual­ity mark man­ual set the stan­dard for meat pro­duc­ers, and to­day 98% of beef and lamb meets that stan­dard.
