Star therapy

There’s nothing like star -gazing for contemplating your place in the world (or putting your problems in perspective). Take a closer look at the planets and phenomena in our solar system, and beyond, thanks to the high-powered telescopes at Auckland’s Stardome Observatory and Planetarium, Wellington’s Carter Observatory or atop Tekapo’s Mt John. This year solar activity is particularly strong, so if you’re away from the city, look out for the blazing beauty of the aurora australis (Southern Lights). Or just head outside away from artificial lights, spread a blanket to lie down on, breathe out and let your mind roam.
