Earth Lodge, Guatemala

Good - - TRAVEL -

Budget friendly as well as sustainable, a stay at Earth Lodge, just outside of Antigua, won’t break the bank. The eco lodge and its tree houses have million-dollar views of the magnificent volcanoes that encircle Antigua. Accommodation ranges from rustic cabanas and dorm beds to camping. Day trippers are welcome to share a meal and lounge in a hammock or deck chair. The Lodge also encompasses an avocado farm of more than 400 trees, so you won’t run short on guacamole during the twice-yearly harvest. Earth Lodge is involved in the local community, particularly the village school. It fundraises to buy school supplies, food for the breakfast programme, and has helped the school secure running water and money for a computer lab.
