21.8km long four-lane me­dian di­vided high­way

Es­ti­mated $973 mil­lion de­sign and con­struc­tion cost

The big­gest road­ing project to be un­der­taken in theWaikato, con­nect­ing to the Ngaru­awahia sec­tion of the expressway at Lake Rd in the north and the ex­ist­ing Tama­here sec­tion in the south.

The project will pass to the south and east of Hamil­ton and in­clude five in­ter­changes and 17 bridges.

It is es­ti­mated the project will re­quire up to 4 mil­lion cu­bic me­tres of earth­works, 1.3 mil­lion tonnes of ag­gre­gate and up to 1mil­lion square me­tres of OGPA the quiet road sur­face.

The project will use 28,450m3 of con­crete, 212km road mark­ings and 126km of fenc­ing.

Con­nec­tions to the Hamil­ton Sec­tion in the City’s north east will sup­port planned growth and devel­op­ment in Hamil­ton City’s north­ern and east­ern sub­urbs.
