People in Te Awamutu may have noticed large bouquets of beautiful flowers around the town.

Each week in November, local florist Yvette Jackson, of Petite Posy, has been placing mystery flowers around Te Awamutu as a gift to the town.

The flowers have been left in different locations, each with a note that thanks the community.

The first bunch was discovered on Alexandra St by Jayde Krippner, of the Mirrorbox. She decided to continue spreading the love by leaving them in her store and giving them to the first person to comment on them.

Te Awamutu councillor Hazel Barnes was the first person to notice them, so was therefore the new owner of the flowers.

“Hazel was so excited to receive the flowers. It was so sweet.

“It's such a lovely thing to do for the community.”

Empire Espresso and the new ASH store got the next two bouquets and the final bouquet was to go out to the community last week.

Te Awamutu councillor Hazel Barnes received the flowers.

Flowers by Petite Posy Florist, owned by Yvette Jackson.
