Getting ready for the growing season
Spring has arrived in the garden and I am starting to settle in to my role as coordinator of the garden. We’ve been lucky since I began with mostly dry Fridays towards the end of winter.
The volunteers have continued to harvest brassicas, radish and green leafy vegetables, as well as the ever-abundant fennel.
The changing season brings new harvest delights like the first handful of broad beans, and we’ve been noticing garlic shoots popping up and the herbs starting to come alive.
Meanwhile, we’ve been busy tidying up, keeping on top of weeds, clearing out the glasshouse to make space for potting up in preparation for the growing season.
