Why do we need a Home of Football?

WAIBOP chief executive Karyn Walters said a new facility would be able to host a range of football leagues, with the proposal including several artificial turfs, a covered turf and buildings used for coaching and refereeing courses.

The benefit is the facility could hold secondary school football and Northern League football games during the day or mid-week under lights as well as walking football, parafed and development of WAIBOP referees through a training facility.

“The ability to use the facility at night, under lighting, added significant value to the facility. This gave the option to support community groups, cultural activities and the arts,” Ms Walters said.
