If you have a great idea for re­duc­ing waste, Hamil­ton City Coun­cil is of­fer­ing a share of a $50,000 fund to help get it off the ground. The fund al­lo­cates $50,000 from money from the Gov­ern­ment’s na­tional waste levy to fund projects that en­cour­age long-term waste min­imi­sa­tion ac­tion and be­hav­iour change. Busi­nesses, iwi/ma¯ori or­gan­i­sa­tions and ed­u­ca­tion and com­mu­nity groups can ap­ply for stan­dard fund­ing grants of be­tween $1000 and $5000 for smaller projects and fea­si­bil­ity stud­ies, or fund­ing be­tween $5000 and $15,000 for larger projects. Ap­pli­ca­tions for the Fund must be re­ceived by 5pm, Novem­ber 18.
