Try Harvest, Weave and Dye Harakeke with Tarnia Ehu, Plein Air Painting with Jennie de Groot or perhaps Paint like the Masters, a practical art history class with Pieter Swanepoel.
Learn about important works of art by exploring artists’ techniques.
Pieter holds a master’s degree of fine arts and with his extensive teaching background on university level this is bound to be an interesting class.
Tarnia, the weaving tutor, enjoys working with natural resources and sharing her knowledge of harvesting, weaving and dying harakeke.
Class projects will include making putiputi/flax flowers, flower cones, koha kete, whiri wharaki/wall piece, waikawa/ big basket and bracelets.
Painting can be a lonely profession, so WSA is opening the studios for members to use on Friday afternoons, 12pm to 3pm.
Casual fees $8, please bring cash and pay into the koha box in the office.
A great opportunity to meet and paint with friends. Please bring your own materials and tools.
