Op shop needs you

The Corner Stone House began in 1989 by the then Rev Peter Hunn hoping to find a place for the Parish people of Whangamata to open a community type centre with office facilities. Restoration work began, completed in April 1990 and the centre was opened by the then Bishop of Waikato.

This was followed by the opening of an “op shop” run by a hardy group of volunteer ladies. The income raised from this venture has provided on average $5000 annually to worthy causes over the years.

The Anglican op shop now needs your help: they require much well overdue maintenance work to be carried out to its tired paint work on both roof, walls and interiors.

It’s hoped a garage sale will raise a goodly portion of that money required to carry out this remedial work.

From October 21-24 at 9.30am the house be open at Cornerstone to receive your pre-loved garage sale contributions and to on sell them. Any manpower along with trailers on the day to move equipment is required and welcomed.

Garage sale day October 24 8am-4pm Labour Weekend.
