Walk, cycle or jump in your car to this garden studio overlooking the harbour and marina. Proceeds from a gold coin koha will be donated to the Whangamata Community Trust, fundraising for a community van. Celebrated flax weaver Bernie Ross, whose work is in galleries of Wellington, Hamilton and Coromandel, hosts this studio opening at her home along with Maree Burt (portraiture), Heather Watt (mixed media, acrylic painting), Laureen Walker (mixed media) and Jess Nichols (corten steel garden sculpture) and Noel Snook (graphic artist). Art is for sale. A large garden sculpture by Jess this year will feature, adding a sense of drama. Laureen’s work is textured multi media using stainless steel and natural coastal materials. Maree’s portraits of Mick Jagger and Leonard Cohen must be seen to be believed. Noel’s graphic representation of Whangamata Beach will enhance your bach or make a great gift. Heather’s mixed media pieces have a coastal theme that celebrates the summer ahead. We look forward to seeing you there!
