Thames B Grade ladies third at squash na­tion­als

The Thames Squash Club B grade na­tion­als ladies team rep­re­sented the Waikato re­gion in the 2017 B Grade Na­tion­als in Cromwell in Septem­ber.

The Thames team fin­ished third be­hind two very strong Auck­land teams.

Mem­bers of the Thames team in­cluded Paula Hamer, Kiri Moore, Ge­or­gia Robcke, Liz Hamil­ton, Larissa Davy and Louise Cameron.

The na­tional com­pe­ti­tion was made up of the best teams from 11 dif­fer­ent re­gions around New Zealand. They left for the com­pe­ti­tion on Septem­ber 26.

Club spokesper­son Larissa Davy said the Thames Squash Club ladies had an out- stand­ing year this year, with two out of three teams go­ing through the Waikato win­ter in­ter­club sea­son un­de­feated.

Both teams won their fi­nals to win each of their di­vi­sions.

The club’s A team took out the top di­vi­sion in the Waikato, with newer play­ers to the sport win­ning di­vi­sion 8.

The club also has two young ju­niors rep­re­sent­ing the Waikato re­gion for their age groups.

Ge­or­gia Robcke, 15, is cur­rently ranked num­ber six in New Zealand for the un­der 17 girls, and 11-year-old Alyssa Davy is cur­rently num­ber seven in New Zealand in the un­der 13 girls.
