Thames B Grade ladies third at squash nationals
The Thames Squash Club B grade nationals ladies team represented the Waikato region in the 2017 B Grade Nationals in Cromwell in September.
The Thames team finished third behind two very strong Auckland teams.
Members of the Thames team included Paula Hamer, Kiri Moore, Georgia Robcke, Liz Hamilton, Larissa Davy and Louise Cameron.
The national competition was made up of the best teams from 11 different regions around New Zealand. They left for the competition on September 26.
Club spokesperson Larissa Davy said the Thames Squash Club ladies had an out- standing year this year, with two out of three teams going through the Waikato winter interclub season undefeated.
Both teams won their finals to win each of their divisions.
The club’s A team took out the top division in the Waikato, with newer players to the sport winning division 8.
The club also has two young juniors representing the Waikato region for their age groups.
Georgia Robcke, 15, is currently ranked number six in New Zealand for the under 17 girls, and 11-year-old Alyssa Davy is currently number seven in New Zealand in the under 13 girls.
