Hawke's Bay Today - - Local News -

A brightly coloured shed will be used by Hawke’s Bay Regional Council to educate people visiting the A&P show about diversity. Hawke’s Bay Artist Cinzah Merkens painted the Nature Shed, formally home of the Acclimatisation Society. His mural, TeKaitiaki, features native New Zealand animals, a tuna (eel), a ruru (morepork ), a tu¯¯ı and puriri moth. During show week, a model will show how to enhance biodiversity and productivity in the rural landscape. Hawke’s Bay Regional Council biodiversity adviser Natalie de Burgh said the council was looking forward to seeing people visit the Nature Shed and teaching them how to help protect native creatures and their habitats.
