More than 1000 people have made submissions about the potential sell-off of Napier Port. Hawke’s Bay Regional Council chairman Rex Graham said he was pleased with the level of interest in the process and the public’s willingness to discuss and debate the issue, with 1100 submission received. The regional council has now completed its drop-in sessions across the region. Submissions remain open on the issue until 4pm on November 22. The full port consultation document is available online, in regional council offices and at local libraries. A two-page summary can be filled in and sent back to the council by freepost. Ratepayers will also be receiving a postcard in the mail urging them to have their say. Online submissions can be made through the website — www.hbrc.govt.nz.
