EPL work­ing on di­ver­sity

The Premier League has agreed a three-year part­ner­ship with Bri­tain’s lead­ing char­ity for LGBT is­sues to help pro­mote equal­ity for les­bian, gay, bi­sex­ual and trans­gen­der fans, of­fi­cials, play­ers and staff. The Premier League will now join Stonewall’s global di­ver­sity cham­pi­ons pro­gramme, which works to im­prove di­ver­sity and equal­ity in the UK and abroad, said ex­ec­u­tive chair­man Richard Scu­d­amore. The league will also up ef­forts to tackle ho­mo­pho­bic abuse, whether in sta­di­ums or on­line, and will fo­cus on im­prov­ing its re­port­ing and train­ing staff at clubs to bet­ter ad­dress ho­mo­pho­bia.
