THE DESIGN
Perfect for a client with a vivacious personality and love of colour, in a home that’s surrounded by bush, an organic theme incorporating bold colour was introduced into an otherwise monochrome scheme. As well as hues from the vegetation outside, natural shapes come into play in the form of patterned tiling.
An earthy green was used for all the painted areas: the ceiling, two of the walls and the new plantation shutters that were specified for additional privacy. A mix of gloss and matte fan tiles make a beautiful statement on the wall behind the bath and are complemented by more subtle pennypatterned tiles to add interest to the adjacent wall.
The charcoal-coloured, crushed marble and resin bath was chosen for its comfort and cocoon-like shape, and a matching vanity basin was selected for continuity. All the metal pieces – including hinges and handles – were custom colour-matched in aged iron, as were the floor-mounted heated towel rail and bath tap. •
