Sharing the bounty with community
Foxton now has a sharing shelf for the local community.
“We are a community-based free pantry,” said organiser Linda Lake. “It is for drop off of any spare fresh fruit and veges, nonperishable items and toiletries.”
She said perishable items are also taken but they need to be notified prior to dropoff.
“We take frozen meats, frozen veges, milk, margarine.”
You can find the sharing shelf at 30 Futter Street Foxton. There is a Facebook page for this project — Foxton Free Community Pantry.
