Help with the paint job?

Horowhenua Chronicle - - NEWS -

Levin Senior Citizens need a big wad of cash to paint their hall, at 44 Cambridge Street.

The outside of the building has been in need of a few coats of paint for a while now and the quotes for the job are rather high, too high for the Senior Citizens to cope.

The reason for the high prices is the OSH requirement for painters to use scaffolding — half the amount needed is for scaffolding alone.

“It is a real worry for us,” spokesperson Allen Little said. “This job is beyond us and has been dragging on for a few years now because we have not known how to solve this.”

Quotes have been obtained from several companies and these keep going up.

Offers of discounted paint and other help have been made, but the job is still too expensive.

The hall has been home to many community organisations since 1957.

Levin Senior Citizens are looking for $43,000 to do the job. If you can help, go to https:/ /givealittle.co.nz/cause/halpainting
