Coun­try fair raises $15,200 for school

Manakau School’s an­nual coun­try fair achieved the big­gest turnover over last Satur­day.

“We had the big­gest crowd and raised $15,200 for the school,” said prin­ci­pal Deb Lo­gan.

The chil­dren’s games alone brought in $1500. The ob­sta­cle was par­tic­u­larly pop­u­lar.

Many adults had a go at the course, in­clud­ing prin­ci­pal Deb Lo­gan who was num­ber three on the leader board for quite some time.

The mys­tery en­velopes were espe­cially pop­u­lar and the lo­cal busi­ness com­mu­nity had helped put these to­gether, do­nated $5000 worth of good.

The fair was only open for three hours and drew a crowd not only from the Manakau com­mu­nity but also from much fur­ther afield.
