Kaikoura Star - - FRONT PAGE -

Anzac Day commemorations will be held this Friday, April 25. Those wishing to take part in the parade are asked to assemble at the West End carpark at 10.20am. The service at the Memorial Hall will start at 11am, followed by the laying of the wreaths at the cenotaph in the memorial gardens.

Kaikoura RSA president Spiro Cosmatos is calling on all families of servicemen to help seek out forgotten medals of World War I, and for descendants to wear these with pride this Anzac Day to respect their family members’ service and sacrifice.

This year’s services will be particularly poignant around the country, as 2014 marks 100 years since the start of World War 1.
