Kaikoura Star - - YOUR PAPER, YOUR PLACE -

Laughter, music and shared food. How good was the weekend just past? I loved every moment. Music knows no boundaries and young and old took advantage of what music was on tap.

On Saturday I giggled and laughed my way through a laugh yoga session with 25 other women. Just how healing is it to have a deep full-on belly laugh?

On Saturday Tina McVeigh, one of New Zealand’s top bridge teachers from The House of Cards in Christchurch will do an introductory lesson at the Bowling Club with drinks and nibbles after. On the same day there is the Community Recovery Expo where you can find out all that is going on in the recovery effort. Activity and sport is another way of warding off the winter blues. Coming up is a sports expo where everything sporty and wellness orientated will be showcased.

On another note it’s sad to hear the Hutton’s shearwater population has been hit badly by the quake with their breeding ground now a target of wild pigs. Let’s hope the call for help is heard New Zealand-wide.
