Glee­ful spend­ing

I know that at the end of the day my part­ner and I pay nearly $3000 a year for our wa­ter, sew­er­age and kerb­side re­cy­cling.

I have no doubt there are a mul­ti­tude of other ser­vices pro­vided but in gen­eral we just don’t use the ma­jor­ity so it’s hard to per­ceive a ben­e­fit.

I don’t have a say in my rates bill and judg­ing by the lat­est an­nual in­crease of an av­er­age 7.1 per cent, any com­plaints would fall on deaf ears any­way.

Why should I bother vot­ing for the next round of self-serv­ing bu­reau­crats who are go­ing to glee­fully spend ev­ery penny of­fered with­out a sec­ond thought for where that fund­ing came from and whether it’s all re­quired?
