The Stephen Kearney Cup semifinals take place tonight at Porirua Park, with Mana College flying the flag for Porirua.

As part of a day of rugby league action at the venue, Rongotai will play Taita at 6pm, with Mana taking on Upper Hutt in the 7.30pm kickoff. Mana defeated St Pats Town 22-20 at the Te Whaea artificial turf last Thursday night to grab a spot in the top four.

The Junior Kiwis will hold a training session for Wellington under-15 and under-17 players from 3.30pm today, while the Stephen Kearney Cup matches are likely to draw a notable crowd. Kearney himself and some Kiwi and Great Britain senior players will be there to check out the local rugby league talent, prior to the international test at Westpac Stadium on Saturday night.

This Thursday, Aotea, who defeated Tawa 26-20 in the plate quarterfinals, will take on either Wainuiomata or Heretaunga for a place in the final. Hutt International Boys’ School and Wellington College will contest the other semifinal.
