Fitzpatrick runs

The Libertarianz Party will stand deputy leader Sean Fitzpatrick in next month’s Mana by-election.

The by-election, to be held on November 20, is to replace Labour’s Winnie Laban who has resigned.

Fitzpatrick stood for the Ohariu electorate in the 2008 general election.

The Libertarianz Party had an optimistic and positive view of the electorate’s people, he said. The party, founded in 1995, advocates self-government and limiting the power of the government over the individual.

The party once had well-known broadcaster Lindsay Perigo as leader.
