The owners of a distinctlyrenovated Paremata boatshed auctioned last week were ‘‘really happy’’ with the interest it attracted.
Brian McNamara and Bill Ryan’s boatshed, on State Highway 58 next to the boating club, featured in Kapi-Mana News on December 7. Mr Ryan said they were keen for $130,000 so were ‘‘pleasantly surprised’’ it went for $133,000.
The two men had bought the boatshed eight years ago, converting it into a getaway for family and friends, but were not using it as much these days.
‘‘We had a lovely day out there [on December 12], the tide was high and the weather beautiful,’’ Mr Ryan said. ‘‘There were a few ‘lookers’ but three serious bidders, and although it went past one’s limit quite quickly, the other two kept going. We’re really happy.’’
