National Standards

Kapi-Mana News - - OPINION -

Editor,

I note with interest that our city council has decided to take a position on the National Standards issue.

I suspect there will be quite a few people in the community with views on both sides of this debate who will question the council’s mandate for consideration of issues such as this.

And there will be others who will argue that if the council wants to have a policy on National Standards, then perhaps they ought to consult rather more widely with the community before developing a position on the subject.

I understand their consultation to date has been limited to hearing one deputation to their most recent council meeting. - JOHN BURKE,

Mana.
