Misleading on costs

Kapi-Mana News - - OPINION -

In his response, David Rolfe is somewhat economical with the facts since he fails to mention that the registration fee of $90 has to be paid every time the septic tank is pumped out (at a cost of $450) and that a warrant of fitness has to be obtained from an ‘‘approved person’’ at a cost of $200 to $1000.

His estimated annual cost of $10 to $15 is misleading in the extreme.

Fascinating, is it not, that prior to my letter, an obligatory threeyear pump-out period was to apply, with an unspecified degree of flexibility for longer periods at council discretion. For the first time, and as a result of my letter, David Rolfe has at last stated a specified time period of six to nine
