NCEA in spot­light

Set­tle­ment Sup­port Porirua and the Min­istry of Ed­u­ca­tion are run­ning a free work­shop for mi­grant par­ents on the Na­tional Cer­tifi­cate of Ed­u­ca­tional Achieve­ment (NCEA).

The ses­sion will cover de­tailed NCEA in­for­ma­tion. It is aimed at new­com­ers with chil­dren at sec­ondary school, but all mem­bers of the com­mu­nity are wel­come.

The work­shop will in­clude: the two types of na­tional stan­dards (achieve­ment and unit stan­dards); the Na­tional Qualifications Frame­work, gain­ing cred­its to­ward na­tional qualifications; how Lev­els 1, 2 and 3 on the Frame­work re­late to the school cur­ricu­lum.

The in­for­ma­tion will be pre­sented at 6pm in the con­fer­ence room of the Porirua Em­ploy­ment Hub on Wed­nes­day, Fe­bru­ary 16.
