Porirua police are urging the motorist involved in an incident on the Haywards Hill last Tuesday to come forward.

About 7.50am, a 37-year-old cyclist was clipped on the right side of his body by a darkcoloured 4WD, causing him to fall off his bike. He has since been discharged from Wellington Hospital with a fractured arm and two sprained wrists.

Senior Sergeant Steve Sargent says the incident occurred not far from Moonshine Rd, on State Highway 58, in the early stages of the uphill passing lanes.

‘‘ The driver . . . may not have realised they’d clipped the cyclist. The driver was travelling towards the Hutt Valley and we’d really like that person to come forward and contact us, to assist police with our inquiries.’’

Anyone with any information should phone Porirua police on 04 238 1400 or phone Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
