Electioneering

Kapi-Mana News - - OPINION / NEWS -

Editor,

The report on Destiny Church by MTV’s Native Affairs (June 6 ) showed Maori politicians electioneering for the 9000 congregation vote.

Hone Harawira’s assertion that he is going to reactivate Maori Parliament intrigues me. Does this mean that when Lockwood Smith dissolves the National-led Government in November this activated Maori Parliament could take over the mantle under a Harawira-led Mana Party?

Should the referendum over the current MMP electoral system include Te Iwi Kotahitanga (United Tribes) or TIK option, where the government cedes sovereignty?
