Health career workshop

Kapi-Mana News - - NEWS -

Whitireia New Zealand is running a workshop at Te Akapuanga Hall in Cannons Creek tomorrow promoting careers in science and health.

The workshop is part of the Pacific Science Project, a Ministry of Health initiative that Whitireia staff are involved in. This project is about raising the awareness of careers in health and science to Pacific secondary school students. It is aimed at Pacific parents of students about to select their NCEA subjects.

More Pacific health professionals, engineers, architects, scientists, educators and researchers were needed, said a Whitireia press release. The workshop would share information and raise awareness of the health and science careers.

Local people including Whitireia staff and career services will be onhand to assist and discuss the science curriculum taught in secondary schools and to talk about NCEA.

The workshop is on tomorrow, 5.30pm, at Te Akapuanga Hall, Warspite Ave.
