Porirua City Council’s website is one of the best in the country, according to a recent survey.

The Association of Local Government Information Management’s website survey, measuring sites against Government web standards, online services and accessibility, saw the Wairarapa councils post the worst results – South Wairarapa came last (78th), and Masterton was 76th.

New Plymouth took the ‘ supreme website’ prize, followed by Porirua and Tasman. Wellington came in fifth, Kapiti seventh, Hutt City 21st, Greater Wellington Regional Council 22nd, Horowhenua 36th, Upper Hutt City 37th, and Horizons Regional Council 48th.

The results did not specify in what area those at the bottom of the field failed, but for $350 the councils could order a report telling them how they could improve.
