Groups get funds

Kapi-Mana News - - FAMILY/NEWS -

The votes have been counted and the cash has been gifted to four community groups from Z Mana. When the rebranded petrol station opened this month, it offered $5000 to community groups, asking shoppers to vote for their favoured cause. Rounding up to the nearest $50, the money was divided and presented last Friday to Bellyful ($1450), Mana Volunteer Coastguard ($1200), Mary Potter Hospice ($1650), and Friends of Mana Island ($850). Z workers Raswinder Singh and Tarmindar Mann said it had been brilliant standing behind the counter to watch customers discuss, ponder and slot their chip in the vote box – often returning three or four times to give their second, third and fourth choice one also.
