Fare rise delayed

Kapi-Mana News - - NEWS -

A public transport fare increase due to take effect on September 1 has been delayed because of negotiations with transport providers, Metlink says. Fares will now increase later this year. The cost of train and bus travel on monthly passes, 10-trip tickets and on Snapper cards is due to increase by 5 per cent to help meet rising costs of public transport, Metlink says. Prices will also increase on Johnsonville trains and on cash fares from Waikanae to Otaki beach. Commuters who bought a monthly rail pass for September at the higher price can get a refund.
