Businessman wins dinner with Branson
A Wellington man will enjoy dinner and cocktails with one of the world’s most influential businessmen, thanks to a Father’s Day promotion run at Paper Plus North City.
Tim Horne won the chance to dine and socialise with airline tycoon Sir Richard Branson in Auckland through Paper Plus’ Billionaire for a Day contest.
To enter, Mr Horne spent $30 at Paper Plus North City on cards for Father’s Day. He also receives a new book for his efforts.
‘‘It was all a pretty big surprise when I got the call to tell me I had won,’’ says Mr Horne, a business development manager.
‘‘My boss actually gave me one of Sir Richard’s books to read not long ago and now I’m heading off to meet him. ‘‘It’s all pretty surreal.’’ He will be taking his wife Zoe with him to enjoy his prize on the whirlwind trip to the City of Sails.
They have also won return flights to and from Auckland, a night’s accommodation at the Langham Hotel, a chauffeur-driven Porsche, a luxury spa package and the opportunity to attend a luncheon with Rachel Hunter.
Paper Plus North City owner Richard Bateup says it’s fantastic Tim has won the prize.
‘‘Everyone here at Paper Plus North City hopes he has an incredible time.
‘‘We just wish we were going with him.’’
